Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases

The Department of TB and Respiratory Diseases is actively involved in teaching, training and research in the field of TB & Respiratory Diseases.

Tuberculosis is not only a worldwide health care issue but also an important health problem of our country. Equipping the students with knowledge and practice to handle tuberculosis benefits the society. Students are enlightened about the various programs undertaken by government to control tuberculosis.
For this our department has a pulmonary function testing unit and also regular camps are conducted to increase the awareness. Students are educated about the ill effects and complication of pollution such as occupational lung diseases and malignancies of the Lung.

The department provides inpatient care to tuberculosis, lung cancer and other non-TB respiratory diseases patients and free anti-retrovirus treatment to patients suffering from TB-HIV co-infection.
